Napier Street Upstairs studio is a beautiful space to work in. It’s in an old theatre called “Anthill Theatre” in South Melbourne that used to be a temperance home. The Upstairs studio has three windows facing south which is perfect for Orbit.

In Melbourne, we’ve had strange weather pattern lately - as Melbourne does. It was May, late autumn, this year. The weather is usually quite cold.  But we had a mini heatwave (no kidding!) in early May.  On Wednesday May 8, I went into the studio to be greeted with the blast of sunshine. I took this chance to record and measure the sunlight at a 30-minute interval. It was the light at 2 pm that’s proved to be the best light of the year. We replicated this light in the showing in August with a large mirror and a Profile.
