The light that is used in the performance of Orbit at the Mechanics Institute is an extrapolation of the records I have collected from the VU Theatre Studio and Napier Street Studio. At first, we replicated the light that came in the Studio on November 6, 2013 at 5.40 pm {click here to view}. But without a NASA budget and with our mirror-reflector mechanism to replicate the light, the Nov 6 light reflected a strong glare to the best seats of the house. A light-changing situation was therefore in order!
Our extrapolation is based on the records I posted earlier in the Pondering The Record of Time which predicts what the light would be like around 6 weeks later after the Nov 6 record. The good thing is when I place a CD reflector at one corner of this light, it reflects a nice shimmery light at a nice spot in the corner of the Studio at the Mechanics Institute. It works quite well there.
Stay tuned for the footage from the Mechanics Institute season.
